Update: In truth my favorite song on that album is Boogie Street, but I couldn't find a video that matched my enthusiasm for the song. Play it anyway.

Like John Coltrane, I really love Cohen as a composer, but not an interpreter of his own material. A lot of good recordings of "Suzanne" out there ...

He's a writer, not a singer--that's for sure. Particularly now, when he's over 70 years old.

That said, I find his own delivery to be perfect on, for instance, "The Future." I can't imagine anybody else doing that material justice--and it's brilliant.
