Interlude: Where's the Bubbly?

"The champagne bottle has been pushed to the back of the refrigerator. And the progress, while real, is fragile and is reversible." ~ Gen. David Petraeus

I have a hunch that the champagne has actually been spirited across the border into Syria, where it will be refrigerated for future use, alongside Saddam's WMD. Ya gotta love those "reversible" operations.

Actually, the mullahs in Tehran were popping the champagne corks the minute our troops set foot in Iraq...how the hell did we ever end up with an administration trying to play a game of "Risk" but, in reality, not even being able to play a competent game of "Chutes and Ladders"...

AIP--
I catch your drift. But there is one thing Mullahs are fairly consistent about--they don't drink alcohol.

This thread reminds me...

I should drink more champagne!

More than a mullah? More than would be prudent? What is this "more?" Perhaps you aspire to pass out in a pool of a more chi-chi grade of urine? "Yeah, it's urine. But it's pooly-friggin'-foo-say urine, jack. Check it out."

Hmm...Rob, there's a mental image that, while quite realistic when one realizes who you are responding to, is still quite disturbing...

All top shelf, all the time.

"The champagne has been pushed to the back of the refrigerator." I'm saving that line for the next really lousy day I experience.

I dunno. It kinda strikes me as a line that should be delivered by a person wearing a frilly apron.
