Love this one Rob! I read the article yesterday about Bachman and Palin's rants over nothing! I am so sorry that Minnesota is home to one of these macho-women!
Now if they wanted to say that this isn't really helping matters (as explained by Darwin Catholic's number crunching) then I would say they had a point.
But that wasn't their point.
I understand that it's nice to score political points against opponents/rivals but one should make sure there is a reasonable point to score before shooting.
They don't need a point, Moose. The tactic is simply to attack anything said or done by either of the Obamas, or any other Democrat. The rightwing talkers and the rightwing pols know that their constituents are stupid enough to believe whatever they say without reflection or fact-checks. They can say Obama's a Muslim and their clueless mob of lockstep followers just nods, drools and says "Yup, yup, he shore is!"
I wouldn't say the argument is over nothing. Many women on learning the value of breast feeding say they want to do it but most do not continue because there are lots of barriers. These barriers need to be addressed. Breast feeding is also linked to rights of mothers in the work place and in society in general. It's sad that breastfeeding is being used in a political tug- of- war. By attacking Michelle Obama on this issue Bachman and Palin are really doing a disservice to families.
I am an introverted blue collar pilgrim, surviving near the center of the continent, on the fringes of a shopworn civilization. I abide in rooms full of partially-read tomes, each bookmarked with the fragment of a shattered illusion.
Everything which is inspired, heroic or saintly is derived from contemplation.

Hello, Heather! I didn't realize that you had a blog. I now have it bookmarked.
